The Graduate Intern: Financial Advisor programme at PPS is a twenty-four month internship starting in February 2026, designed to provide professional financial advice to clients as an accredited PPS representative. Interns will be registered on the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) representative register and will focus on sourcing, connecting, meeting, upselling, cross-selling, and growing a client base of graduate professionals. The role offers exposure to long-term insurance, wills, and investments, with the aim of protecting clients’ financial goals and wealth. Successful completion of the programme opens the door to a commission-earning career as a financial advisor, servicing the post-graduate and professional market.

Responsibilities

• Find prospective clients through lead generation
• Call prospective clients using cold calling techniques
• Build a professional network and sustainable business within the graduate professional market both in person and on social media
• Meet with prospective clients in-person and virtually
• Prepare and present proposals and financial solutions to prospective clients
• Onboard prospective clients and provide after-sales care
• Deliver financial advice and implement PPS solutions tailored to client needs
• Provide suitable advice aligned with the requirements of graduate professionals
• Organise small worksite marketing events at client offices
• Develop and grow a personal book of clients

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12)
• NQF level 7 qualification completed or to be completed by end of 2025 (bachelor’s degree, bachelor of technology, or advanced diploma)
• Preference for Post Graduate Diploma or Honours in Financial Planning or Financial Planning Law
• No prior experience required as this is a graduate position
• South African citizenship and under the age of 34
• Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA Certificate of Evaluation
• Not eligible if previously part of an insurance industry internship or graduate programme of six months or more
